FAQ

How do I find the BPM of a song?

Drop the file above: the tempo is measured from the spacing of hits in the bass and percussion range, and the result is written to the file's BPM tag. No file? Tap the tap tempo button along with the beat.

Why is the BPM half or double?

Tempo detectors sometimes split or merge beats (174 instead of 87, for example). Count the beat of the track; the right value is usually one of the two.

How much does the BPM change with pitch?

By the pitch percentage: a 128 BPM track at +4% plays at 133.1 BPM. With key lock off, the key shifts too; about 6% equals one semitone.
